Freelance Project Manager – Multi-Phase Residential Development

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to take the lead on a major multi-phase residential development comprising both timber-frame homes and traditionally built flats and apartments. This is a high-performing division, so we’re looking for someone who thrives on delivery, hitting targets, and driving progress across multiple workstreams.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the overall coordination, project delivery and programme management across several phases of the development. This role involves a dynamic mix of site-based responsibilities and essential office and paperwork duties, so excellent time management and self-motivation are key.

You will also act as the primary point of contact for third-party stakeholders, including Housing Association partners, Local Authority development teams and Regional Development Agencies. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of multi-phase residential construction projects
• Oversee timber-frame and traditional build activities
• Manage site operations, programmes, and contractors
• Handle project reporting, compliance documentation, and progress forecasting
• Liaise with third-party organisations and client-side representatives
• Ensure project milestones, quality standards, and performance targets are met
• Support a high-performing division with a focus on achieving results

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in residential construction
• Strong understanding of timber frame and traditional build methodologies
• Ability to independently manage workload and switch between site and office duties
• Confident dealing with external agencies, partners, and stakeholder groups
• Qualifications / Tickets:
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid
  • CSCS Card
• Ideally degree qualified (Construction Management or similar)
• Professional references will be taken
• Interviews to be held after Easter
