Temporary Works Engineer
Location: Borehamwood (Projects across Central London)
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + Car allowance + Bonus 

We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Works Engineer to join a well-established and growing in-house design team within a major contractor. Based in Borehamwood, this role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of high-profile construction projects across Central London.

This is a contractor-led environment, where the design team plays a key role in delivering practical, buildable solutions both for internal schemes and for some of the UK’s largest main contractors.

The Role:
As a Temporary Works Engineer, you will be involved in the design and coordination of temporary works solutions across a diverse project portfolio. You will collaborate closely with site teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant design delivery.

Projects range in value from a few million pounds up to £120 million, offering excellent exposure to complex and technically challenging schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver temporary works solutions in line with project requirements
• Work closely with contractors, site teams, and third-party stakeholders
• Provide practical, buildable design input within a contractor-led environment
• Support project delivery from concept through to completion
• Ensure compliance with relevant design standards and health & safety regulations

Requirements:

• Experience working as a Temporary Works Engineer or similar role
• Strong background in RC frame design (highly desirable)
• Experience working with contractors and third parties
• Good understanding of construction methodologies and site practices
• Strong communication and coordination skills
