Project Manager – Refurbishment CAT A Fit Out Retrofit and New Build

Location: Central London
Salary: Up to £120,000 plus package
Sector: Commercial Office Fit Out Refurbishment Retrofit and New Build
Reporting to: Project Director Divisional Director

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of high quality commercial projects across refurbishment CAT A fit out retrofit and new build schemes in Central London.

This role sits within a specialist division known for delivering complex heavy cut and carve and structural transformation projects. It requires a proactive leader who can take full ownership from pre construction through to completion ensuring delivery on time within budget and to exceptional quality standards.

You will be responsible for driving performance managing stakeholder relationships and leading a high performing team in a fast paced technically demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Delivery
• Take full responsibility for the end to end delivery of projects
• Lead and manage site teams to achieve programme cost quality and safety targets
• Drive project performance through effective planning coordination and execution
• Maintain strategic oversight of programme and proactively mitigate delays

Client and Stakeholder Management
• Build and maintain strong client relationships at all levels
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and professional teams
• Lead and present at project meetings with confidence and clarity
• Collaborate with consultants subcontractors and supply chain partners

Commercial and Technical Oversight
• Monitor budgets cost performance and profitability
• Contribute to procurement strategy and subcontractor selection
• Review design information technical drawings and specifications
• Provide buildability input and value engineering solutions particularly on complex structural and cut and carve schemes

Programme and Risk Management
• Develop manage and report on detailed project programmes
• Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies
• Maintain clear and accurate reporting on progress and performance
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual obligations

Quality and Compliance
• Champion high quality delivery and zero defect outcomes
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and CDM requirements
• Implement best practice systems procedures and controls
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence

Team Development
• Lead mentor and develop project teams
• Foster a collaborative results driven team environment
• Encourage innovation and problem solving across the team

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a commercially aware and technically strong Project Manager with a proven track record in delivering complex commercial projects.

Essential Experience and Skills
• Minimum 8 to 10 years experience in construction project management
• Strong background in heavy cut and carve refurbishment retrofit or new build projects
• Experience delivering commercial office fit out including CAT A schemes
• Excellent knowledge of construction methods structural works and MEP systems
• Proven ability to manage technically complex projects from concept through to completion
• Strong commercial awareness and cost control experience
• Effective communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
• Ability to lead teams and drive performance under pressure
• Strong planning organisational and problem solving abilities

Qualifications
• Degree or equivalent in a construction related discipline
• CSCS card
• SMSTS or equivalent
• First Aid certification desirable
