The Role

They are seeking a Design Manager to join their London team to support the delivery of major commercial construction projects.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery, ensuring design information is coordinated, compliant, and issued in line with the construction programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and coordinating the design process across commercial projects

• Liaising with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams

• Reviewing design information to ensure buildability, compliance, and cost efficiency

• Managing the design programme and ensuring key milestones are achieved

• Resolving technical queries and managing design changes during construction

• Supporting procurement of specialist subcontract packages

• Ensuring designs comply with planning, regulatory, and client requirements

Requirements

• Experience working as a Design Manager with a main contractor or specialist contractor

• Background delivering commercial or mixed-use developments

• Strong understanding of construction design coordination and project delivery

• Experience managing consultant teams and technical packages

• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment

• Excellent communication and organisational skills
