Freelance Site Manager – Hospital Interior Refurbishment (Immediate Start)

We are urgently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee the interior refurbishment of a live hospital radiography department. This is a technically demanding environment that requires strong leadership, excellent coordination skills, and previous experience working within clinical or imaging-suite refurbishment settings.

The Project

You will be responsible for managing the internal refurbishment of an active medical imaging department, including:

• Full interior redecoration
• Installation of new suspended ceilings
• Overseeing mechanical and electrical upgrades, including ventilation and services integration (common in healthcare refurbishments) 
• Coordinating specialist trades throughout the fit out of a clinical unit, including compliance-led alterations, infection-control considerations, and equipment-ready spaces (typical requirements in hospital refurbishment projects) 
• Ensuring works progress safely and efficiently within a live clinical environment, where operational continuity and patient-care standards remain priorities (standard in hospital refurbishments) [kova.uk.com]

Key Responsibilities

• Daily management of all site activities
• Coordination of subcontractors across decoration, ceilings, M&E, and specialist clinical fit-out works
• Ensuring strict adherence to hospital protocols, infection control measures, and safety standards (critical in healthcare fit-outs) 
• Programme management, short-term planning, and daily reporting
• Working closely with estates, clinical teams, and project consultants
• Maintaining excellent communication in a sensitive, patient-facing environment

Experience Required

• Previous experience managing refurbishment projects within hospitals
• Proven track record delivering high-standard interior refurbishment projects
