Job Title: Buyer
Location: Birmingham

We are working with a well-established residential housebuilder who is looking to appoint an experienced Buyer to join their commercial team in Birmingham. This is a key role responsible for the procurement of materials and plant, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities:

• Procuring materials, plant and subcontract packages in line with project programmes

• Obtaining competitive quotations and negotiating best value

• Placing orders and ensuring timely delivery to sites

• Liaising with site, commercial and technical teams to understand project requirements

• Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining strong working relationships

• Keeping accurate records of orders, pricing and supplier details

• Working closely with the commercial team to support cost control and budget management

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Buyer for a recognised housebuilder

• Good knowledge of residential construction materials and supply chains

• Experience using COINS

• Strong negotiation and communication skills

• Organised approach with good attention to detail

• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
