Norse Group’s joint venture Daventry Norse has announced it will now work under the new name of West Northamptonshire Norse, as part of the county’s forthcoming reorganisation of local government.
Norse’s current environmental services partner Daventry District Council will be replaced by the new West Northamptonshire Council on 1 April.
The new unitary council – which will also replace Northampton Borough, South Northamptonshire councils and the county council – will become Norse’s collective joint venture partner for providing environmental services in the Daventry area.
Under the new title, West Northamptonshire Norse will continue to provide the same frontline services, including waste collection, grounds maintenance, maintaining play equipment and street cleansing.
West Northamptonshire Norse Operations Director, Nick Drake, said: “It’s very exciting to be working with our future collective joint venture partners at West Northamptonshire Council.
“Despite our name change, it will be very much business as usual for us, as we all seek to pull together to provide the best services we can for the people of West Northamptonshire.”
Councillor Jo Gilford, Environment Portfolio Holder at Daventry District Council and a Member of the West Northamptonshire Shadow Authority, added: “We look forward to continuing to work with Norse, developing our mutually productive relationship, providing a range of cost-effective frontline services on our behalf to local residents.
“We are pleased to see the joint venture’s new name link to the future unitary council and wish West Northamptonshire Norse every success going forward.”
