Skilled Careers are working with a leading M&E Contractor with a strong multi-national presence across the industrial commercial, healthcare and Data Centre sectors who require a senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their team to initially work on a notable research facility near Oxford. 

As Senior QS you will have full commercial control for a £12m M&E package reporting upstream to a regional commercial manager with an onsite commercial team of direct reports.

• Day to day running on the division in terms of procurement and financial control • Bid for new opportunities and attend interviews for new work • Internal commercial & resource management of projects to achieve profitable returns • Leadership, guidance & mentoring staff • Act as the key co-ordinator with the professional team and works contractors in respect to the valuation process. • Have clear strategy on operational delivery, customer engagement, commercial excellence, winning work and repeat business, PLT portfolio development, people training, succession and development • Use sound planning and project management skills to deliver multiple and complex commitment and objectives and consistently use financial levers to grow profitability for the portfolio and business unit • Actively engage with all internal and external stakeholders; adapting personal style when required • Regularly review, provide guidance and challenge on strategic (project) and business unit objectives • Ensure that the commercial function within the business unit effectively supports the operational teams in the implementation of H&S policies

The ideal candidate will have circa 8 years experience in a commercial role with exposure to healthcare or lab projects and have worked on NEC contracts previously.
