Bid Manager (M&E)
Skilled Careers are currently working with a very well-respected M&E Contractor based out of a head office in the city, who have a strong presence across the medical, leisure, and educational sectors. With a turnover of circa £70m and strong client end relationships, my client is looking to engage with M&E Bid Managers to join their Southern Business unit.
As M&E Bid Manager you will have a detailed involvement in upcoming projects across the commercial, healthcare and educational sectors. Working closely with commercial, pre con and operations teams you role will include:
To lead, manage and co-ordinate all aspects of a bid ensuring that high quality, competitive proposals are delivered to the customer in a manner consistent with the Management System and to establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with customers, partners and bid team Formulate and agree bid strategy with senior management to secure profitable orders (to achieve bid targets as required by the business); * Form relationships with the customer or their representatives to develop clear understanding of their requirements; * Oversee and lead the preparation, coordination and delivery of presentations to customers as required, to successfully secure orders; * Oversee the establishment, production and implementation of bid management processes, including the following activities: * – Compile PPC papers and tender settlement documentation (if required); * – Bid management plans; * – Bid programmes; * – Decisions on major supply chain partners (if required); * – Liaison with supply chain members to formulate aspects of the bid offer; * – Written technical, legal and financial contributions to bids; * – Document control and register of clarification responses; * – Carry out customer intelligence gathering; * – Develop technological solutions for the bid via BIM and submissions technology; * – Have full knowledge of the tender requirements ensuring compliance in all respects of bid deliverable; * Be aware of company best practice and innovation within bids across the business stream; * Liaise with co-sponsors and internal bid steering committee for large and multiple bids, including preparation of Gate papers; * Lead the presentation of Tender Settlement meetings for large and multiple bids and obtain approvals; * Seek to understand, lead the development of and implement the appropriate digital toolsets to execute cost take-off and other estimating activities, such as 5D cost planning.
The Ideal Candidate will need to have: * Previous experience of managing bid services within the construction and engineering industry * Some understanding of the principles of framework procurement and experience within the most current forms of procurement is required; Sign off to pay a very good salary and the opportunity to work with a leading M&E contractor who are extremely well respected across the engineering industry and have a busy order book for the foreseeable.
