My client is a leading construction company who have been established for over 25 years and turnover £60m a year. The culture is friendly and professional.

They have an opportunity for an Assistant Accounts Manager to join the team where you will be assisting the Accounts Manager/FC in the production of Management accounts.

For this role you will need to have experience of assisting the Accounts Manager in producing Management Accounts and have an in-depth knowledge and experience of costing and taking financial accounts to Trial Balance on a monthly basis. An excellent working knowledge of Excel and Word is also required.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

Subcontractors Ledger

Be the main point of Accounts contact for all aspects of this ledger assisted by accounts manager and accounts supervisor. Subcontractor Costing, Certifying Subcontract payments and Producing/Validating Subcontract Bacs Payments.

Company Credit Card

Oversea and manage the day to day running of the company credit cards, Costing, Validating, Paying the Company Credit Card.

Nominal Ledger

Assist the accounts manager in the production of the financial accounts and issuing the Monthly costs reports, Project Cost control, Overhead reporting, Fixed assets/Accruals and prepayments.

Labour & Utilities

Process/Verify and validate all invoices and timesheets to ensure timely costing and remitting. Liaise with Site to acquire proper paperwork, link site timesheets to supplier invoices and ensure correct costing and paying of Utility Bills.

Sales Ledger

Support the accounts manager in the production of the monthly Sales Invoices. Liaise with project Quantity Surveyors to ensure timely issue of sales Invoices.

Statutory Compliance

Understand and Support the accounts manager in the submission and remitting off statutory obligations, CIS (Construction Industry Scheme), VAT, PAYE

Staff/Payroll Costing

Understand and in absence of the accounts manager verify and cost the monthly staff costs, check and post the various Journals

Management Accounts

Understand and Support the accounts manager in the production off management accounts. Retrieve and validate CVR reports received form project surveyors. Integrate all costs and revenue data into the management accounts. Manage the Overhead Budget. Produce external Management accounts upon request.

It would be greatly advantageous if you have a working knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), have assisted in the Audit function and completion of Audits and have knowledge of Access and data migration.
